I think I pretty much enjoyed all my subjects – although the sciences were great fun, especially since they felt so empowering: I enjoyed being able to go out into the garden and appreciate that snails were molluscs and related to octopii, or that the plants were photosynthesizing and producing glucose.
In all fairness though I think I just enjoyed learning, and when you think about it school is actually a pretty cool place – you’re being rapidly equipped with knowledge that has been acquired over centuries or even millennia! Even things we take for granted, for example the chemical formulae of salt (NaCl) or water (H2O) have great stories behind them – knowledge doesn’t come easy.
