      Hi Anya,

I finished my degree and knew I wanted to work in research but I was unsure in what exactly I wanted to do. I actually worked in a different field and travelled for 2 years before starting my PhD. I saw this PhD advertised and had heard of Regenerative medicine and stem cells, but wasn’t very knowledgeable in the field. The more I looked into it, the more exciting it became to me, it has so much potential to benefit society! Stem cells can turn into any cell type so could replace damaged tissue, replace damaged organs, be used as drugs as medicine for disease. the most recent example is stem cells which are implanted on a material, which is implanted in the eye to help cure a certain type of blindness, which will make someones life change forever!
