As a School of Materials we give lecture courses to undergraduate students taking our Materials Science degrees on making polymers, the properties of polymers and processing of polymers. These lectures are often in units where the students also get lectures on other materials (metals, ceramics, biomaterials). We also lecture to MSc students on our Masters course (called Polymer Materials Science and Engineering) which follow the same order (making, properties, processing) as this a logical approach – how are they made? what properties d o they have (and why)? and how are things made using them.
