I hope to make ‘smart’ polymers ie. polymers that respond to their environment which results in them doing something useful. My goal is to make polymers that respond to enzymes that cells make causing changes in their shape.

I hope to be able to make some new polymers that will have new and improved properties to the ones that are already used. I would like these to be put into different applications like printer inks, medicines and shampoo.

I hope understand a bit better why products such as shampoos freeze when the weather is cold, so we can think about how to prevent this to avoid consumers being disappointed in cold countries when the product doesn’t look or work how you want it to

I’m aiming to make films out of enzymes, and use them to catalyze chemical reactions – preferably more than one reaction at the same time, so that I can build fairly complex molecules! And maybe use the films on different surfaces/objects to allow them to carry out chemical reactions.

Produce lighter engineering materials for cars and aircraft to reduce fuel consumption and also CO2 emissions.
