• Question: Could you name some natural polymeric materials?

      There’s quite a few – ones that come to mind are starch (present in pasta and potatoes – great carbohydrate), cellulose (paper!, forms major part of cell walls in plants) and glycogen (energy storage in your liver) – coincidentially these are all polymers of glucose – the glucose monomer is bonded differently in each.

      DNA and RNA are also natural polymers, as are the proteins that make up a large chunk of your body!

      Rubber is also a natural polymer – wasn’t very useful until they accidentally discovered that adding Sulfur to it made it quite tough and resilient!
