      Hello,

I didn’t set out to specifically to work in polymers, it just turns out they’re quite an important part of lots of research in the field of regenerative medicine so as a result I work with them! Polymers are used as what we call scaffolds, scaffolds provide a structure (like a skeleton) which can be implanted into the body eg. to replace lost tissue. Or they can be covered in cells to support their growth, so they’re really quite cool.
